Tom Vo is a proud American, decorated Vietnam War veteran, 9th Dan Taekwondo Grandmaster, successful entrepreneur, and dedicated family man.

 

Born in Vietnam, Tom entered the prestigious National Military Academy of Vietnam in Đà Lạt in 1967. After rigorous training, he became a combat pilot in the Republic of Vietnam Air Force, flying the Cessna A-37 Dragonfly. In 1973, he trained at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas, where he earned his U.S. Air Force pilot wings. He flew more than 100 combat missions—often flying side-by-side with American forces—defending freedom until the final days of the war in 1975.

 

After the fall of Saigon, Tom came to the United States as a refugee. Like so many Vietnamese Americans, he arrived with nothing but determination and an unshakable belief in the American dream. He built a new life rooted in hard work, service, and gratitude for the freedom he found here.

 

In 1995, Tom founded Tom Vo’s Taekwondo Studios, which has since grown into multiple locations across Southern California. As a 9th Dan Black Belt Grandmaster in Olympic-style Taekwondo, he has trained and mentored thousands of students over the past 30 years, teaching discipline, respect, perseverance, and the spirit of service. He is also an internationally certified Taekwondo judge and has won 62 gold medals in competition.

 

Beyond the martial arts world, Tom has helped more than 1,000 families achieve the dream of homeownership as a trusted realtor in Orange County and surrounding areas.

 

A lifelong athlete, Tom has completed 15 full marathons across the United States and Canada. He is frequently invited to sing the United States National Anthem at veteran events, community gatherings, and martial arts showcases—moments that reflect his deep love for his adopted country.

 

Tom is married, the proud father of one son, and remains actively involved in his family, his students, his community, and the Vietnamese-American community he has proudly served for decades.

 

A combat-tested veteran who has lived under communism and fought for freedom, Tom Vo now stands ready to bring the same courage, discipline, and commitment to service to the people of California’s 45th Congressional District.
